The Ceramic RockZap or simply "Rockzap" is a convection-based 'Log' vaporizer produced by Aromazap, a small company located in Idaho, USA. The RockZap is an evolution of its predesessor the 'Myrtlezap'. Unlike previous 'log' vaporizers that utilized the surrouding wood shell for insulation around the heat port, the RockZap uses a ceramic sleeve (or "Rock") for primary insulation. This allows for many shapes, sizes and species of wood shells, as well as prevents charring/burning of the interior wood that often occured in wood insulated log vaporizers. Rockzap's use Vapor stems or "stems" as a means of extracting essentials from ground plant matter. The stem is inserted into the heat port and the user takes a slow inhale from the stem to produce vapor. Water pipe addapters are also available. Each RockZap is a custom piece of functional art, each unit is different in some way, no two Rockzaps are the same.

The RockZap doubles as a very effective Aromatherapy diffuser and allows users to hide their vaporizers "in plain sight".

Aromazap first began testing the Ceramic Rockzap in the Summer of 2011. The production Rockzap began shipping on Sept 15th 2011. Widespread postivie reviews and feedback from users of the Rockzaps predesessor the MyrtleZap (MZ) lead to many MZ owners purchasing the new Rockzap. Reports quickly spread of increased performance over the previous MZ's. The new all-stainless-steel enclosed heatport and "Ceramic Thermal Blanket" touted many improvements over previous models.

  • Elimated wood "charring"
  • Increased heat retention
  • Faster heat up time
  • Many different shapes and wood species

The Rockzap utilizes a 100% all stainless steel heat port, insulated by a ceramic blanket and housed in a custom wood shell.

The Rockzap is powered by a 12v DC power addapter which plugs into the base of each unit. Rockzaps are intended for "24/7 use", they can be left on year round for ease of use and 0 heat-up time.

The Rockzap uses vapor "stems". Standard Rockzap stems consist of a nylon mouthpiece with a stainless steel tube pressed into the bottom containing a screen. Users can "suck up" plant matter into the tip like a drinking straw to fill the tip/bowl. The stem is then inserted into the Rockzap heat port and the user begins a slow inhalation through the end of the stem. Due to the convection qualities of the RZ, the slower the draw the hotter the air reaching the herb and more dense the hit. "Micro hitting" is also a common technique. The "ABV" can be simply blown out the end of the stem once all essentials are extracted.

The Rockzap serves as a very effective Aromatherapy diffuser, and a copper "Aroma Cup" is included with each kit. The user can drop essential oils into the aroma cup and place on top of the RZ heat port. Tweezers are typically used to remove the cup after diffusing because the cup can get VERY hot.
